This global, industry-leading, company is seeking an exceptionally talented procurement leader to manage the indirect procurement department of its most prestigious, state-of-the-art, factory near Bologna. The Head of Indirect Procurement for this factory will manage all indirect spend, approx €200M, and establish the best-in-class procurement processes, policies, and governance, setting the example for best-in-class procurement to be adopted by other facilities around the world.
You will be working closely with local General Managers, Logistics, Supply Chain and Production teams to gather and understand demands and convert them into strategic procurement initiatives to maximize the value of the factory’s budget. Due to the factory’s importance, you will also be very visible and work closely with global procurement colleagues and executive leadership to align on global strategies to be implemented and rolled out at the factory level.
This position will require an individual who has worked at a large multi-national organization, preferably within the Consumer Goods sector, and also has great experience in an operational manufacturing environment, understanding the day-to-day workings of a factory and related spend categories such as Logistics, Packaging, Capex, MRO, Utilities, Facilities, and other services.
As the Head of Indirect Procurement, you will:-
Manage all indirect procurement spend for the factory such as logistics, warehouse, facilities, MRO, energy and corporate services
Lead a team of 3 direct reports on site and 1 additional shared service resources to support on operational tasks
Deliver strategic and operational transformation projects to implement best-in-class procurement processes
Provide procurement expertise to key on-site leaders including General Manager, Logistics, Supply Chain and Production Directors
Execute global procurement strategy at the factory level to ensure local operations are aligned with global strategy
Have a clear understanding of business needs to deliver appropriate procurement plans to maximise value
Be a fluent English speaker to operate confidently in a global environment; Italian or other EU languages are beneficial
