At BioAI, we advance healthcare and push the boundaries of medical science through a combination of expertise in biology and machine learning. One key research area is the development of next-generation vaccines and bio-pharmaceuticals for the treatment of cancer and the
prevention
and therapy of infectious diseases, including COVID-19. As a Data Scientist, you need to process the data from different databases including wet lab experiments and apply your technical, analytical, and research skills to understand the results and advice for future developments.
You will
collaborate with research engineers and biologists to deliver and refine the protein designs through lab experiments.
You will
also be responsible for writing high-quality, maintainable, well-documented python codes. (sequence, structures, experimental measurements) and curate them for data analysis and machine learning. Conduct rigorous data analysis and statistical modelling to interpret the data and model performance. Report results clearly and efficiently, both internally and externally, verbally and in writing. Write high-quality, easy-to-understand, and maintainable code together with
precise documentation
.
Follow and communicate the latest developments in biology.
Requirements
Master’s or PhD degree or equivalent experience in computational biology, computer science, bioinformatics, or related scientific field. Knowledge of molecular biology, structural biology, immunology, or a related discipline, demonstrated via previous work or publications. Data science and statistics experience including data visualisations, statistical testing, etc. Proficient in writing clean and maintainable code in Python.
Strong desire
to work with biological applications. Excellent
communication skills
in English and
collaborative
spirit. Desirable Knowledge of current research in deep learning applied to biology.
Experience working
with large biological datasets, databases (PDB, Uniprot, etc.) and their API technologies. Demonstrated ability to contribute to novel research efforts; such as publications at leading life science or ML venues.
