Anexcitingopportunity has arisen for a passionate, and dedicated qualified mental health clinician to join the older adult’s pathway of the universal crisis team. The team are seeking a highly motivated clinician with an interest and experience of working with older people with organic clinical presentations to join the team.

Experience in working with older adults who have an organic illness or a dementia is a must, and experience of, or training in psychosocial interventions for those service users displaying behavioural and psychological symptoms of dementia would be desirable. The post holder will possess excellent interpersonal andcommunication skills. You will have the ability to work both independently and within a team.

You will demonstrate the ability to liaise with external agencies and be skilled and comfortable in dealing with service users who have multiple and complex needs. You will also be able to demonstrate robustrisk assessmentand management skills.

Main duties of the job

The Older person’s crisis team works in conjunction with the other crisis pathways to provide rapid clinical advice assessment and Home based treatment for individuals experiencing mental health crisis and their families and carers as well as the facilitation of wider MDT working including building partnerships with third sector organisations.

In addition to working with older people experiencing mental health crisis the older person’s pathway of the crisis team also provides The Care Home Early response service which is a trulyinnovativeand ground-breaking service that offers early response to Care Home’s across the locality. We offer bespoke training directly into the care home environments to support in the development skills in the management of behaviours that challenge and to improve the quality of care within the care home environment.

The successful post holder would also be encouraged to support the wider crisis pathway across the age ranges to help develop skills and knowledge regarding crisis intervention.

Although the Universal crisis team provides a 24/7 service this pathway curnelty covers 8am – 9pm. however cover across 7 days is required.
