In this role you will be the technical contact for the Database team and be able to contribute to technical and service debates withsenior managementand Architecture/Engineering to ensure we agree a coherent strategy that meets the Society’s needs and represents the Database technologies effectively from a supportability perspective.

You will work closely with the Practice Manager to ensure the team has the right focus on priorities for ongoing and future work and help the identify the correct technical skills needed to ensure the team is positioned to address the tasks and demands upon it.

About you

You will ensure technical escalations are addressed effectively and pragmatic solutions are agreed with all parties. Be capable of building strong relationships with key vendors to ensure we maximise the value. This role will hold responsibility for ensuring that service introduction and design tasks are fit forpurposefrom a Database point of view and not going to expose the estate to any new risks.

Be able to promote a culture of Learning andContinuous Improvement, using front of market techniques to enhance performance and operation, you will also have an extensive technical background in database technologies e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, AWS. This experience will enable you to behands-onfacilitating or resolving BAU issues and be part of the on-call rota.

Help facilitate service issues to ensure we are continuously improving the service we provide, and the successful candidate will need to have a strong focus on Incidents, Request and Problems, for which previous Service Now experience would be an advantage.

Essential Skills

MS SQL SERVER RDBMS 2019 and higher including High availability ( AOAG)

And/or

Oracle 19C RDBMS and higher including High Availability ( Dataguard)

And/or

AWS RDS for e.g. Postgres

SQL, SQL Server, MySQL, Aurora
