Domestic Cleaner

Guinness is a charitable organisation that specialise in housing and care services for older people and adults with learning disabilities. We want to provide great person-centred services to enable our customers to live positive, independent lives.

We are recruiting for a Domestic Cleaner to provide an efficient 16 hours of cleaning services at our independent living Scheme at Anderton Place in Northwich over 5 days (Monday to Friday in week 1 and Tuesday to Saturday in week 2). Ideally the working hours will be between 10am-1pm but are negotiable and can be discussed at interview stage.

Key responsibilities:
Work as part of a team to ensure that all areas within the building are clean and tidy.

Communal areas, toilets and kitchen areas are maintained to a high standard.

Maintain an adequate supply of cleaning materials and ensure they are stored securely according to COSHH guidelines.

Report minor repairs to management.

Wash paintwork and clean windows and doors as required.

Be aware of and follow Guinness Care policies and procedures, with particular attention to standards of customer service, health and safety, and equality and diversity.

The successful applicant will have:
A sensitive and supportive approach to elderly and vulnerable people always maintaining their dignity and self-respect.

Able to follow clear instructions.

Experience of cleaning.

Able to climb stairs whilst manoeuvring cleaning equipment, (hoover and cleaning caddy).

Essential skills and experience:
Experience of cleaning.

Knowledge of Health and Safety requirements and COSHH guidelines

Understanding of the needs of particular client group’s e.g. the elderly.

What we offer

16 hours per week on a by weekly rota basis 10am-1pm

Pay rate of £11.22 per hour £9336.23 (FTE £20,423 per annum).

Paid induction programme and any on-going training as required
