RINA is currently recruiting for a Sustainable & Climate Risk Junior Consultant to join its office in Genova, Milano or Roma, Italy within the ESG & Sustainability Division.

Mission

The Environment & Climate Change Unit of RINA is looking for a Junior Sustainability & Climate Risk Consultant who will closely work with players within the industry, R&D and financial services sectors which are willing to implement and/or draft their green strategy. The position will specifically require basic technical expertise/knwoledge in ESG & Climate Change related activities including but not limited to Climate Change Risk Assessments, Paris Agreement alignment, EU Taxonomy & DNSH, Sustainable Finance/Green Finance/Climate Finance, Sustainability Reporting, Climate Corporate Governance, ESG KPIs & Assessments, ESG & Climate Due Diligence etc.

Key Accountabilities
Assist clients in designing ESG strategies, running materiality assessments, delivering CSRD-aligned gap analysis, assessing Paris Agreement alignment, preparing and writing sustainability reports, defining sustainability strategies, action plans and target settings, conducting ESG Assessment and Due Diligence, implementing climate change risk assessments, assessing EU Taxonomy eligibility and alignment
Implement Research & Development tasks of ESG & Climate Risk related projects funded by EU through the Research and innovation funding programme (Horizon Europe 2021-2027)
Active interaction with the client aimed at both project deliveries and commercial opportunities identification and development
Interaction with colleagues of the Business Unit and other Business Units within RINA Group to effectively and efficiently identify opportunities and deliver services
Interaction with external consultants in the countries of operations and assure the whole project standard of quality
Support in the development of new project opportunities, contribute to effective technical proposals
Support the team in general management of the projects meeting client’s requests
Qualifications
1-3 years of experience in ESG, sustainability or climate change risk advisory
Understanding of relevant frameworks (e.g., GRI, SASB, TCFD) and reporting standards
Experience in working on sustainability topics and reporting issues, especially around CSRD, TCFD, GRI, GHG protocol, non-financial disclosure, CDP reporting, ESG strategy design and development is a plus
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Italian (C1 level), other languages an asset (e.g., French, Spanish)
Excellent knowledge of the Office suite, particularly Word, Excel, Power Point
Demonstrated passion and interest in driving environmental and social change through business
Self-starter – enthusiasm and willingness to learn and stay abreast of constantly evolving development

Education

Master degree in Economics, Sustainable Finance, Engineering or other relevant disciplines.
