S&you Recruitment are pleased to be partnering with Cwmpas in their search for a new Head of Business Development.

Cwmpas are a co-operative and development agency, working for economic and social change, believing that our economy and society should work differently, putting people and planet first.

This position sits within the Business Growth and Consultancy Directorate, which aims to ensure the futuresustainabilityof Cwmpas through securing continuation and new income, testing new services and products, and delivering a range of consultancy services in line with their objective of making positive change happen.

Key Details

Location:

Remote with travel across Wales as required.
Salary: £54,527 per annum (Rising to £56,708 per annum from April 2024), with a range of wider benefits.
Annual Leave:
Starting at 25 days per annum, along with Bank Holidays and an additional 3 days over Christmas at the discretion of Cwmpas.

Contract:

Permanent with 35 hours a week, part-time can be considered within reason.
Deadline:

Responsibilities

Lead a high performing business development function, ensuring all income generation and related activities embed the organisation’s culture, vision and values.
Lead on development of a funding strategy for Cwmpas, engaging key internal and external stakeholders in shaping priorities across the organisation, aligned to our organisational strategy.
Lead on prospect research, identifying and assessing viability of income generation opportunities, aligning to strategic objectives.
Lead on developing and maintaining a robust pipeline of potential income generation opportunities across adiverserange of funders and strategic areas, matched to and tracked against targets and objectives.
Lead collaborations with colleagues and service leads across the business to respond to opportunities for funding through development of bids and grant applications.
Identify and build potential partnerships to leverage greater opportunities for funding and impact.
Directly manage relationships with trusts and foundations at all stages in the business development life cycle, from warming up to stewardship.

Key

Requirements

Good standard ofeducation.
An experienced income generation professional with a track record of success in a high-pressured business development environment.
Excellent track record in securing significant income from a range of sources, exceeding financial targets.

Experience ofwriting successful funding applications to trusts and foundations, the lottery or statutory sources.

Experience ofmeasuring success and reporting on progress to senior leaders and management boards.

Experience ofbuilding and maintainingpositive workingrelationships with internal and external stakeholders.
A developed understanding of the Welsh economic and social context and the challenges and opportunities that this can create for businesses.
