The IT Support Specialist is responsible for providing comprehensive technical support and assistance to our company’s staff, both in-house and remotely. This role encompasses the management, maintenance, and setup of computer systems and networks, handling equipment maintenance, inventory management, and preparing devices for new employees. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of computer systems, demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills, and communicate effectively with non-technical staff.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Serve as the primary point of contact for internal IT support, addressing issues with computer systems, hardware, software, and networks, both on-site and remotely

Perform regular maintenance and monitoring of company IT equipment to ensure optimal functionality in both the office and remote environments

Manage IT inventory, track equipment status, and assist in maintaining detailed records of hardware and software assets

Prepare, format, and configure laptops and other devices for new staff members, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary applications and security protocols for both in-office and remote work

Install, modify, and repair computer hardware and software; diagnose and resolve technical issues

Install and connect various IT hardware such as monitors, keyboards, printers, and other peripherals, ensuring proper configuration and functionality

Provide guidance and support for non-technical staff, including training on company systems and remote work tools

Collaborate with external vendors and IT service providers as needed

Requirements

Proven experience as an IT Support Specialist, particularly in internal staff support and equipment maintenance, in both in-office and remote settings

Comprehensive knowledge of operating systems including Windows, macOS, Android, and iOS

Strong understanding of Microsoft Office applications and the ability to provide support on these tools

Troubleshooting skills across various technology platforms

Communication and interpersonal abilities, suitable for both in-person and virtual communication

Experience with hardware and software installation, configuration, and maintenance

Knowledge of remote troubleshooting techniques and network security practices

Organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

Optional: Familiarity with Mobile Device Management (MDM) solutions, Microsoft Azure & Intune, and Apple Business Manager
