Damia Portugal Lda. is seeking a qualified and experienced Legal Counsel to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in providing legal guidance and support to various departments within the organization. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled legal professional to contribute to the success and growth of our company and be able to work independently in a remote work setup although should be based in the Lisbon area.
Responsibilities
Conduct legal research and provide timely and accurate advice on various legal issues;
Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of contracts, agreements, and legal documents;
Ensure compliance with local and international laws and regulations;
Represent the company in legal proceedings, as required;
Collaborate with internal teams to address legal concerns and provide strategic advice;
Stay updated on changes in legislation and communicate relevant information to the organization;
Assist in the development and implementation of legal policies and procedures;
Handle legal matters related to intellectual property, employment, and corporate governance.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Law; Master’s degree or equivalent is a plus;
2 years of experience as a practicing attorney, preferably in a corporate setting;
Strong knowledge of Portuguese labor and commercial law;
Proven experience in managing Visa processes for international employees: demonstrated ability to handle various visa types, ensuring compliance with legal requirements, and adeptly managing the documentation and application procedures involved in the international employee visa acquisition process;
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment;
Effective communication and interpersonal skills;
A Plus if you have Experience in typical contexts practiced in the IT market, such as EOR (Employer of Record), RPO (Recruitment Process Outsourcing and IT Outsourcing, and similar practices.
Excellent command of English and Portuguese both written and spoken.
