Recruiting for a Maintenance Engineer – multi-skilled electrical bias and some mechanical for a long standing company in Southend on Sea, Essex. As a Maintenance Engineer this role will carry out preventative, reactive and improvement maintenance. It will involve Electrical, mechanical pneumatic and hydraulic fault resolution and mechanical component repairs. The person will assist in the implementation and maintenance of quality systems and ensure the company complies with all areas of the Health and Safety at Work Legislation.
As a Maintenance Engineer you will work alongside the Engineering Manager, Engineering Assistant and any contract engineers on site.
Main Duties and account abilities
Maintain and repair machinery and equipment according to planned schedules.
Diagnose faults and carry out remedial action prioritising for minimum disruption.
Redesign and build to improve efficiencies and machine running
Ensure essential equipment, tools and parts are available by effective ordering and/or sourcing.
To carry out and implement risk assessments.
To act as Fire Marshall
Education/Qualifications
Time served Electrical maintenance Engineer with a minimum 3 years post apprenticeship experience.
Experience, Knowledge and Skills
Experienced in a Manufacturing environment preferably food or packaging
Experienced in preventative, reactive and improvement maintenance, electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic fault resolution and mechanical component repairs including belts, bearings, chains and sprockets
Ability to work on own initiative and to prioritise effectively
Good understanding of technical diagrams and manuals
Goodcommunication skills
Basic computer skills in both Microsoft Word and Excel
Hours of Work
Ideally 10am-8pm Monday to Thursday (so Friday, Saturday and Sundays off!) may consider 8am-6pm Monday to Thursday if preferred.
The Company could be flexible on hours and we will consider someone looking for a part time role/ job share
Must be prepared to be called out from time to time
