We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented professional to join our clients’ team as the Managing Director for its Irish operations.
The Managing Director will play a pivotal role in driving the success of the business by overseeing and coordinating various functions including Health & Safety, Manufacturing Operations, Planning, IR/HR, Sales, Technical, and Quality.
Job Summary:
The Managing Director is responsible for controlling and overseeing all business operations, ensuring bottom-line profitability, and being accountable for the overall success of the business in Ireland. This diverse and varied role involves managing key functional areas and providing leadership to achieve strategic goals.
Responsibilities will include:
Direct the activities of the business, ensuring bottom-line profitability.
Develop and implement a growth strategy for the business.
Coordinate the development of key performance goals for functions and direct reports.
Provide direct management of key functional managers and executives.
Ensure the development of tactical programs to pursue targeted goals and objectives.
Oversee the delivery, service, and quality of products to customers.
Engage in key customer activities and represent the company in negotiations.
Evaluate and decide upon key investments in equipment, infrastructure, and talent.
Communicate strategy and results to site employees and corporate.
Engage in broader organizational strategic planning with senior leadership.
Lead the organization to achieve annual growth targets.
Approve and oversee annual facility budgets, balancing spending against revenue.
Develop and maintain company policies, including adherence to employment law, health and safety, and environmental regulations.
Supervise, support, delegate, and develop senior-level managers.
Present regularly to direct reporting line and other leadership team members on progress, action plans, and relevant matters.
Attract, develop, manage, lead, and inspire a high-performance team.
Instil the company’s culture, values, and standards throughout the organization.
Qualifications & Experience required:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or related field.
Master of Business Administration (MBA) strongly preferred.
Management Experience:
5 years as a Managing Director or in a similar senior leadership position.
Experience in Business Management, Strategic Planning, Budgeting, HR, and Operations Management.
Extensive experience in managing in a unionized manufacturing environment.
Proven success in leading a management team that consistently meets and exceeds business targets.
Sector Experience:
Proven leadership in managing a manufacturing business.
Previous experience in the plastic manufacturing industry is advantageous
