Our client, a leading global IT service provider, is recruiting for a Industry Development Principal Engineer to join their business in Italy .

Responsibilities:
Be responsible for the technological scouting, with the goal of identifying new potential products development exploiting leading edge technologies in the following fields;
Optical technologies for commercial devices (display, camera modules);
Advanced electronically reconfigurable microwave antenna systems;
Novel manufacturing technologies (additive manufacturing, new materials…);
Metamaterials and metasurface technologies for optical and microwave applications;
Mixed signal analysis and high frequency power supply technology.
Explore the opportunity of joint innovation with technological partners in the relevant technical fields. Manage collaboration projects with partners and support the communication with other colleagues;
Be responsible for establishing a network with technical European partners, exploring and expanding our opportunity of technological cooperation with potential academy partners such as universities and research institutes.
Work with teams to develop proposals for research projects;
Provide technical reports providing insight on the latest developments in the relevant technological areas and suggest innovative product-related applications;
Identifies groundbreaking ideas by researching the industry and related events, publications, and announcements; attend technical workshops and conferences in the related technical areas to expand the network with the industry and the academia;
Track industry trends, collaboration with industry vendors, universities and research institutions, identify research collaborations and European research projects.
Qualifications:
At least 10 years of relevant experience in business development in most of the following technical fields:
Optical technologies for commercial devices (display, camera modules);
Advanced electronically reconfigurable microwave antenna systems;
Novel manufacturing technologies (additive manufacturing, new materials…);
Metamaterials and metasurface technologies for optical and microwave applications;
Mixed signal analysis and high frequency power supply technology.
Curious and willing to challenge existing solutions with innovative technology concepts;
Ability to evaluate technological innovations in the relevant technical areas, to evaluate their applicability to commercial products and to clearly report to the Business Unit;
Excellent understanding of technical and commercial requirements in the field listed above;
Fluent in English with social and communication skills, ability to work in international teams;
The willingness and ability to travel;
Must be eligible to work in Italy;
Master or higher degree in engineering, but a proven background in industry development may be sufficient.
