Client Overview:
A leading supplier of specialist metal components for the plastics and rubber industries, working in closecollaborationwith customers and suppliers to provide high levels of satisfaction across the design and specification of processing screws, barrels andprecisioncomponents.
Role Overview:
As a Product Engineer, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring the continued success and development of component design, specification and surface technology, whilst working to a tolerance of +/- 0.05mm.
Lead the design and product development activities, ensuring that the components that are supplied are optimized for clients’ unique process and production requirements.
Product design development from functional design specification to manufacturing drawings.
Collaborate with internal production staff and external supply partners to optimize manufacturing efficiencies.
Drivecontinuous improvementinitiatives to enhance quality management processes, reduce lead times, and increase efficiency.
Collaborate with colleagues across the business to ensure successful and smooth transition from sales to supply.
Provide on-site customer support including carrying out component wear monitoring and measuring service.
Foster a culture ofinnovationand excellence across the business.
Provide technical support to the sales team.
Ideal Candidate:
Holds a technical qualification within mechanical engineering or a relatable subject field.
Ideally possess existing experience in an engineering function.
Strong background in working with accurate tolerancing and engineering drawings with 2D and 3D drafting software – (CAD or Solid Works as examples.)
Machinery component manufacturing experience is strongly desired.
Has a level of understanding of production processes, ideally within plastics, rubber or a relatable field.
Natural ability to manage multiple tasks and time effectively.
Able to work collaboratively and independently as and when required.
This role is primed for someone who is curious, detail orientated and quality conscious.
