About the role

Hamilton Court FX SIM S.p.A., based in Italy, is a CONSOB regulated investment firm, pertaining to HCFX Group which parent is in London that is a FCA Regulated Currency Market Expert, offering Foreign Exchange, FX Options, and Bespoke structured products.

With reference to HCFX SIM, the investment firm based in Milan, driving the EU business of the Group, reporting to the Financial Controller (EU) as the Financial Reporting Accountant your main role will be working within the Finance team to take responsibility of the following key functions.

This position is initially a 1 year fix term contract, with the possibility of transitioning to a permanent role.

Key responsibilities

As a Financial Reporting Accountant, you will be responsible for:

Coordination and management of the external audits, being the point of contact and responsible for issue resolution during that time
Preparing the interim and year-end financial reporting timetables, monitor progress and drive action to deliver against key milestones and ultimately completion of the annual report and accounts
Preparation and review of working and technical accounting papers for external auditors
Ownership of accounting processes and related accounts disclosures, for example, going concern and related parties
On an ad-hoc basis, taking the lead on technical reporting issues, assessing the impact of new accounting requirements
Offering significant contribution in production of ICARAP
Ownership of regulatory Reporting to authorities
Maintaining a detailed and up to date knowledge of all matters related to UK GAAP and IFRS and other relevant regulatory accounting requirements
Carrying out investigations and such other duties as may be required including ad hoc project work
Supporting the finance team in month end closing and financial analysis
Driving continuous improvement and automation by designing and implementing new processes as well as internal controls to incorporate evolving business needs and reporting requirements
Dealing with the finance team of the UK parent company in sending data for consolidation purposes.

Essential experience & skills

We want to set you up for success and we believe these experiences and skills will help you thrive in this role:

Accounting qualification
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required in a relevant discipline
Experience in producing statutory accounts (entity or consolidated) is required with IFRS
Understanding of regulatory reporting or of tax computations would be advantageous but not essential
Minimum 3+ years of experience in a financial reporting environment, either within the accountancy profession or in industry. Financial services experience will be advantageous
Strong organizational skills, including ability to prioritize own workload under pressure to tight deadlines; resilient and able to work on multiple deliverables simultaneously
Excellent analytical skills and very high level of attention to detail
Enjoy working in a team and an enthusiastic, positive attitude
Fluent in English language.
