We are looking for a newR&D Technicianfor ourContinental Europe McCain R&D Team. You will work inVilleneuve-d’Ascq, Francewith occasional travel up to 10% to our other locations within Europe. Your primary role is to support the design of new products or improved existing products through all kitchen activities. As an R&D Technician you will play a pivotal role in supporting the culinary chef and food project developers with cooking tests, several different analysis, kitchen, pilot and plant trials testing’s, sensory tasting organization, specification on data entry for potatoes and appetizers. You will achieve this outcome whilst complying with all local, international and McCain statutory requirements for safety and food safety.
Key responsibilities:
You will lead kitchen activities on new and improved products across potatoes and appetizers.
Product development: you support the organization of the kitchen, pilot, and trial tests in partnership with project developers, make sure they are correctly documented, and you will define cooking instructions for optimal product conditions. You also oversee organizing sensorial tastings.
Technical assessment: Thanks to your technical expertise you support competition assessment. You are fully involved in new product presentations and a food show supporting our Culinary Chef with sampling, and logistics around tasting sessions. You work closely with suppliers to be a culinary pilar, with creativity you participate in the selection of ingredients, manage the database of ingredients and of equipment. You are curious and aware of new trends by watching competitors and attending food shows.
Specifications: You oversee entering data into the system and maintain the quality and accuracy of data.
Qualifications :
You have a relevant background in food science or technology, and relevant experience within the food industry.
Thanks to your understanding of R&D processes or your experience in hotels or restaurants, and your appetite for food you will make this job a success.
You are naturally curious and act proactive with your colleagues, while handling several tasks in a flexible manner.
You have a driver’s license for occasional travel.
Good excellent English skills, both written and spoken are a plus.
You have a positive attitude and are naturally resilient.
