Position Overview:
They are seeking a passionate and experienced SEN Teacher with expertise in working with students with autism to join their dedicated team. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering tailored
education
and support to primary and secondary students with autism, ensuring that each child receives the personalised attention and guidance they need to reach their full potential.
Responsibilities:
* Plan, prepare, and deliver differentiated lessons and activities that meet the
diverse
learning needs of students with autism across primary and secondary levels.
* Create a supportive and
inclusive
classroom environment that fosters independence, confidence, and social-emotional development.
* Implement evidence-based strategies and interventions to support students with autism in areas such as
communication
, social skills, and sensory processing.
* Collaborate closely with a
multidisciplinary
team, including teaching assistants, therapists, and support staff, to develop and implement Individual
Education
Plans (IEPs) and behavior support plans.
* Monitor student progress and assess learning outcomes using a variety of assessment tools and strategies.
* Provide
regular feedback
to students and parents/carers on progress, achievements, and areas for development.
* Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills in the field of autism
education
and
inclusion
.
* Contribute to the wider school community through participation in school events, meetings, and professional development activities.
Qualifications:
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification recognized in the UK.
* Specialisation in Special
Education
Needs (SEN) and/or experience working with students with autism is essential.
* Knowledge of evidence-based practices and interventions for supporting students with autism, such as Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), TEACCH, and Social Stories.
* Excellent
communication
and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents/carers, and colleagues.
* Understanding of the principles of
inclusive
education
and a commitment to promoting
diversity

* Patience,
