This is anexcitingopportunity for registered nurses with post qualification experience within an acute clinical setting to be part of our dedicatedCritical Careworkforce in a prestigious Trust where we are motivated byinnovation, the desire tomake a difference, and our passion for patient centred care.

Due to the high demand forcritical carebeds in & around London, King’s is developing too. Our AdultCritical Careservice currently consists of 94 beds across 7critical careunits.

We have recently opened a 60 bed state of the artcritical carecentre, reaffirming our commitment to be at the forefront of technology &innovation. There are ongoing works to create a unique roof garden space where even patients who are on life support will be able to spend time outside, thanks to specially-designedcritical carebeds, monitoring systems and equipment.

King’s is the Major Trauma Centre for the South East London, Kent and Medway (SELKaM) trauma network, & a world leading centre for expertise in liver disease & liver transplantation.

Main duties of the job

Critical CareNursing is a highly skilled and compassionate healthcare profession responsible for providing specialised nursing care to critically ill patients.Critical CareNurses play a crucial role in monitoring, assessing, and managing patients with life-threatening conditions.

To be a safe and effective practitioner able to provide high quality nursing care to patients and support to their loved ones

To work with support, within a multi-disciplinary team to provide continuing care to a specified group of patients from admission to discharge

To supervise and develop other members of staff and learners as appropriate

To maintain own personal development with support

Particular emphasis is put at Kings on the need to ensure that all staff recognise their responsibility to deliver services in a high quality, courteous, & patient focused manner
