Salary starting from £45,000 – Negoitable based on experience and skill
We are seeking an enthusiastic individual tojoin our growing teamas a Technical Production Manager. In this role, you will play a key part in delivering exceptional events by providing technical expertise and ensuring smooth execution from planning to completion. Reporting directly to the Technical Director, you will be responsible for the following:
* Creating detailed proposals and quotations for events, collaborating closely with project managers to ensure seamless planning and execution.
* Overseeing all aspects of on-site event management, including installation, crew coordination, and de-rigging.
* Managing freelance technicians on-site, delegating tasks effectively to ensure timely completion of responsibilities.
* Supporting the Operations team by recommending suitable freelance technicians from our database for various projects.
* Demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of our equipment inventory and its capabilities.
* Effectively managing budgets to maximize profitability while maintaining high-quality standards.
* Engaging with clients to expand their creative vision and deliver outstanding events within their scope and budget.
* Collaborating with warehouse staff to maintain, service, and prepare equipment to the highest standards.
* Acting as the main technical point of contact for project managers, coordinating all technical requirements for assigned projects.
* Enhancing existing projects by incorporating necessary technical equipment to ensure functionality.
* Preparing technical documentation, including lighting plots and audio/video equipment positions, for project drawing packs.
* Conducting accurate mains power and rigging load calculations as needed for project assignments.
* Ensuring adherence to the company’s health and safety policy throughout all stages of project execution.
* Managing equipment utilization and recommending new technologies that add value to both the company and clients.
Skills & Attributes
We are looking for candidates with the following qualifications and attributes:
* Background in events, technical management, or equipment hire industries with experience in supplier and subcontractor relations.
* Proficiency in event technology, including familiarity with brands such as d&b, Analog Way, Robe, Chamsys, and Avolites.
* Extensive knowledge of video, audio, lighting, and rigging, with experience working with bands and touring artists.
* Ability to understand and interpret technical CAD drawings, experience with Vector Works is preferred.
* Basic understanding of temporary electrical systems, BS7909 certification preferred.
* Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain accuracy under pressure and tight deadlines.
* Willingness to travel and work overseas for extended periods.
* Friendly, positive demeanor with a creativeproblem-solvingapproach.
