Technical Projects Engineer (Design) – Permanent – Southampton – 45k plus benefits
This is an excellent opportunity to join a leading maritime technical service provider based in Southampton.
The role of the Technical Engineer (Blanks/Design) is to ensure that projects are managed in accordance with the Quality Management system, Group Policies and marine industry standards.
Responsibilities include:
To support the Technical Manager and Senior PM in the delivery of the Operations, Special Projects and Marine Construction Projects.
To plan, supervise, manage and perform tasks such as but not limited to; feasibility studies, design studies, detail design
Plan approval work, site supervision, specification writing, cost estimating.
Monitoring the technical and financial performance of projects.
To support the Technical Manager & Senior Project Manager in the development of technical andproject managementcapability (people, processes and tools)
Liaise with onsite customer to ensure expectations and requirements are met or exceeded.
To have overall management of the signature Reduction Materials Application business stream, from initial enquiry to project closure
Experience Required:
Engineering qualification in Marine / Mechanical Engineering or Naval Architecture.
Hold a recognisedProject Managementqualification (Desirable)
Computer literate with knowledge and experience in the use of Microsoft Office Professional (including MS Project), also knowledge of bespoke design software i.e. AutoCAD, Mathcad, FEA.
Experience in afloat ship repair on inshore/offshore diving projects is desirable
You will be working closely with the Royal Navy so must have eligibility for Security Clearance up to UK Secret.
