Your new role

The new Water Engineer will play a crucial role in the Water and Environment Team. Working in a small consultancy you have the unparalleled opportunity to be involved in projects from inception through to completion, with the chance to contribute to their emerging ecology, biodiversity and climate change adaptation offerings.

The successful consultant must be interested in developing a career in Water Engineering, with the skillset to thrive in a small and

dynamic

team, and fulfil the below:

• A thorough understanding of water

resource management

and strategy

• A thorough understanding of flood risk management policy and strategy

• An analytical mindset and ability to problem solve and think logically

• Knowledge of key funding routes available

• Understanding of potable and non-potable water supply systems

• Sound technical ability in flood management and drainage principles

• An understanding of business case concepts and how these fit within the public sector

• Flair for

innovation

and thinking differently

About you

Alongside your interest in flood risk management and environmental engineering and demonstrable appetite for learning and developing your career further, you will have

• Chartered or close to chartership with ICE, CIWEM or relevant institution

• Experience in developing fee proposals / tender responses

• Experience in producing outline business cases for the Environment Agency

• Hydraulic Modelling experience

• Highways Drainage in accordance with DMRB

• SuDS Design in accordance with CIRA 753

• Experience in Foul design with pump design

• Experience using Micro Drainage or similar packages
